PPI

What Is PPI?
Developed in 1982, PPI volunteers support Starting Point of Ozaukee’s belief that successful prevention must come from the leadership and commitment of parents. PPI encourages parents to use their considerable influence with their children by guiding them in a pro-active role for the prevention of ATOD use. PPI is a countywide program designed to educate, motivate and mobilize parents. Parents identify prevention strategies promoting healthy, ATOD-free lifestyles for youth and low risk alcohol use by those adults choosing to drink.

How Can You Be A Part of PPI?
Through the years, several thousand Ozaukee County families have signed a Parent Network Agreement, available through your child’s school.
PPI parents agree to:

1) encourage positive activities for youth by actively chaperoning gatherings and special events attended by youth and by not allowing alcohol or any other drugs to be consumed by minors who are socializing in their homes

2) communicate with other parents to ensure that events inside and outside their homes will be appropriately chaperoned and will not include the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs by minors.

Contact your child's school and ask who the PPI representative is and reach out to become a member of this very active and important group of parents who promote and motivate a healthy lifestyle for children and families.
